PUEBLA + SMALLEST VOLCANO + CHOLULA

According to the legend, a bishop was told by angels the specific location of the future city of Puebla. By the "City of Angels" there is a picturesque road, guarded by two active volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, snow-capped peaks that rush into the sky. The city itself will amaze you splendid colonial architecture, historical monuments, among them Rosario Chapel, Convent of Santo Domingo, the city's cathedral, protected by UNESCO.

Church and houses decorated with ceramic tiles "Talavera", views of the surrounding mountains and volcanoes make this city a dream for lovers of beautiful photos and antique architecture. Now if your main weakness is the food, the "gastronomic capital of Mexico" will not disappoint you. Be sure to try the sauce "mole poblano", combining the taste of chocolate and hot chili peppers, as well as the famous stuffed peppers - Chiles en nogada.

This beautiful place hosts also the smallest volcano in the world - Cuexcomate. Its total height is 13 meters, and the diameter does not exceed 23 meters. Cuexcomate is considered an inactive volcanoe. In addition to its small size, this volcano has another unique feature. Inside, there is a spiral stairs that lead into the interior of the crater. Streams of lava are impressive not only for volcanologists, but also to ordinary tourists.

After that, you will go to Cholula - an ancient Indian city glorified by a pyramid of Toltec civilization, which is considered one of the largest pyramids in the world. At the top of the pyramid was built the church of our Lady of Remedies. It is believed that the city of Cholula was once an important political and ceremonial center of Mesoamerica during the classical period, which was a specular image of Teotihuacan in its heyday.
